SXSWedu Volunteers have a variety of crews to choose from. Take a look at the descriptions, so that you know where you would like to work when selecting shifts.
Hangs and removes all SXSWedu banners in panel rooms and official venues throughout the event. Requires stamina, balance and the ability to carry 30+ lbs.
Provides technical assistance for panels to include projectors, microphones and audio levels, room lighting and general troubleshooting.
Helps direct exhibitors during the loading in to and out of the Education Expo; checks credentials at entrances if applicable; ensures timely communication between exhibitors and SXSW staff.
Admits attendees into the SXSWedu film venue, introduces films and filmmakers if necessary, ensures that films start on time and clears the theater after screenings.
HIGH BEAM EVENTS*
Helps staff official parties and special events during SXSWedu. Must be age 21+.
Manages SXSWedu staff & volunteer hospitality area.
Provides all sorts of information to SXSWedu registrants and attendees; maintains computer stations where attendees can check e-mail, preview schedules and programming.
Assists with a variety logistical and administrative tasks such as volunteer check-in and assisting on crews as needed.
Maintains panelist green room and panel rooms; maintains panel schedule; assists panelists.
One of our largest and busiest crews. Confirms and distributes credentials to all SXSWedu registrants. Patience and good humor is a plus!
*These crews have minimum age requirements or require special skills.
