SXSWedu Volunteers have a variety of crews to choose from. Take a look at the descriptions, so that you know where you would like to work when selecting shifts.

BANNERS

Hangs and removes all SXSWedu banners in panel rooms and official venues throughout the event. Requires stamina, balance and the ability to carry 30+ lbs.

CONFERENCE TECH

Provides technical assistance for panels to include projectors, microphones and audio levels, room lighting and general troubleshooting.

HIGH BEAM SPECIAL EVENTS*

Helps staff official parties and special events during SXSWedu. Must be age 21+.

HOLDING POOL

Fills in wherever extra help is needed.

HOSPITALITY

Manages SXSWedu staff & volunteer hospitality area.

INFORMATION

Provides all sorts of information to SXSWedu registrants and attendees; maintains computer stations where attendees can check e-mail, preview schedules and programming.

LOAD OUT/IN

Helps move and transport supplies, signs and office equipment to and within SXSWedu venues. Requires the ability to carry 30+lbs.

PANELS

Maintains panelist green room and panel rooms; maintains panel schedule; assists panelists.

REGISTRATION

One of our largest and busiest crews. Confirms and distributes credentials to all SXSWedu registrants. Patience and good humor is a plus!

TRANSPORTATION*

Drives SXSWedu vehicles and vans to and from various locations to pick up supplies or other items needed by staff. May be asked to transport talent, speakers or guests of SXSWedu. Drivers must be age 21+, with valid ID and insurance. Dispatchers can be under age 21, but must be able to navigate Austin streets.
